Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Wraps Up, Markstrom Returns to Backup Role The Vancouver Canucks prospects leave Penticton with a 1-1-1 record in the Young Stars tournament, and Jacob Markstrom returns to his backup role as Team Sweden takes on Team Finland in World Cup of Hockey action on Tuesday.

As a whole it's quite obvious the Canucks organization needs a couple more years of quality draft positions to increase their prospect talent level.

As for Brisebois, he's talented but as Benning said he needs a bit more urgency and bit to his game. Most young dmen aren't ready until their early 20's, hopefully he continues to develop!

I like that Torts isn't playing favourites with his CBJ players... Dubi and Johnson have to pick up the pace....

Playing Dubinsky over Byfuglien IS playing favorites IMO.

Buff is a better forward than Dubinsky. Buff is a better defender than Johnson.

Buff has some deficiencies defensively, much like PK Subban, that's why they don't trust him......I guess?

buff and palmeiri in.

Dubie and Johnson out.

All three of their tenders are pretty good, I don't think you could go wrong with any one of them.

I don't think numbers lie though. Schneider has better numbers overall over the last 5 years than the other two, all while having a far worse team in front of him. Oh well, should be a good game tonight! Bishop and Quick are definitely solid goaltenders you are right.

Hey guys, how goes it. Been a nice summer and not really posting on here.

Decided to watch part of the Swe/Fin game and Henrik on a great setup to Stralman score 1st goal of the game.

Codes, I can't quote you but Quick is not the issue. He played lights out in the exhibition games and is the most tested out of the goalies having won multiple cups and a conn smythe. He's going to have a huge game tonight and is a big game player. Schnieder is very good, but has very little big game experience.

Quick hasn't been a big game player since the last LA run to the Cup, that said, Schneider will get his turn in the Olympics as he'll have surpassed Quick by then on the US goalie depth chart.

I hope all 30 General Managers are watching team North America and learning that young guys, given the chance, Willie Desjardins, can get it done and do it with excitement and speed.

"big game experience" is such an overrated criteria. Quick never had it prior to their first cup and hasnt won anything internationally at any level (he was the 3rd goalie on the 2010 Olympic team). Schneider has won many individual awards at various levels and like it was mentioned has nearly the best numbers of any NHL goalies. How else are you supposed to get the "big game experience" if you dont get to play in them

Can you believe Schneider is 30

I really dont think Schneider will ever get the respect he deserves. A lot can change but Bishop is younger, his NHL team wins more, so I see him being the favourite particularly if they look to replace Quick next Olympics.

Then you gotta think Gibson, Hellebuyck, and eventually Demko are the next to take over the crease for USA
